Yet in this install it seems that ACE.12.0 is present (or perhaps this provider links to the 2016 engine? Would be weird but I could see it happening It was dropped in newer versions but is accesible through ACE 2010 redis. But Access 2010 (ACE.12.0) used toīe able to connect to xBase files. Click to Run doesn't create registry entries for ACE yet I am able to use ACE.16.0 and even ACE.12.0 to connect to xlsx files, for example. It seems that this is a larger issue (feature?) with the Click to Run install. I currently only have Office 2016 pro x86 installed, no other MS Office products.

But (all using ACE.12.0 and extended properties as If you copy registry branch "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Access connectivity engine" over to 16.0 then you can actually open a connection using ACE.12.0 provider, more than one actually. Opening ADODB connections to folders with dBASE files (as in above) causes exception "Could not find installable ISAM" with this provider.
